Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MYTECH Career Fair 2026 website and event platform ("Platform"), operated by the MYTECH committee under the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology (FCSIT), Universiti Malaya ("we", "our", or "us").

By creating an account or using any part of the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

• You must be a currently enrolled student at an accredited university or institution of higher education.
• You must be 18 years of age or older.
• Google OAuth sign-in is restricted to accounts with a valid .edu.my email address.
• Each individual may hold only one account. Creating multiple accounts is prohibited.

2. Account Registration & Accuracy

• You are responsible for providing accurate, current, and complete information during profile setup, including your full name as per NRIC/passport, IC/passport number, matric number, faculty, and contact details.
• Providing false or misleading information may result in immediate account suspension, disqualification from event activities, and disqualification from any prizes or lucky draw.

3. Event Participation

3.1 Session RSVPs

You may reserve seats for workshops and sessions via the Platform. RSVPs are subject to available capacity. We reserve the right to cancel a reservation if inaccurate information is detected.

3.2 QR Code Attendance

QR codes are issued for specific event activities (opening ceremony, workshops, feedback, LeetCode challenges, and social activities). Scanning a QR code awards points to your account. You must be physically present at the relevant activity to scan the code.

• Sharing QR codes with individuals not present at the event is prohibited.
• Automating or scripting QR code claims is prohibited.
• Any attempt to manipulate the points system may result in account suspension and disqualification.

4. Resume Upload

• You retain ownership of your resume. By uploading it, you grant MYTECH a non-exclusive licence to share it with participating companies during the MYTECH Career Fair 2026 event period.
• Uploaded resumes must be your own work and must not contain false information.
• Files are accepted in PDF format only, with a maximum size of 1 MB.
• You may delete or replace your resume at any time via the Profile page prior to the event.

5. Data Consent

During profile setup, you will be asked to provide explicit consent for your personal and academic information to be collected, processed, and shared with participating companies for recruitment purposes. This consent is required to complete registration. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Create multiple accounts or impersonate another person.
• Submit false academic credentials or identity information.
• Exploit, abuse, or attempt to circumvent the points or attendance system.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its infrastructure.
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms without prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this Platform — including the MYTECH name, logo, and event materials — is the property of the MYTECH committee or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties regarding uptime, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, MYTECH and FCSIT, Universiti Malaya shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

We do not guarantee employment outcomes from attending the career fair or sharing your resume with participating companies.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via your registered email address or a notice on this Platform. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
